UH allows five unearned runs in loss to UC Davis

The University of Hawaii baseball team committed three errors, and all the runs it allowed were unearned, in a 5-2 loss to UC Davis on Saturday at Davis, Calif.

Second baseman Steven Ventimilia and left fielder Adam Hurley committed errors during the third inning, when the Aggies (22-28, 6-14 Big West) scored the first run of the game. Third baseman L.J. Brewster committed an error in a four-run seventh.

Marc Flores was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Rainbow Warriors (20-29, 4-16), who have lost 15 of their last 17 conference games.

Justin Mullins (1-0) was the winning pitcher, allowing one run in 1 2/3 innings of relief. UC Davis starter Spencer Koopmans permitted one run in 5 1/3 innings.

Scott Kuzminsky (4-7) was charged with four runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Hawaii will play its last road game of the season today in the finale of the teams' three-game series.
