Rinsuke Shimabuku, 88, of Kahului, Maui, passed away on May 14, 2014, at Hale Makua Kahului. He was born on October 11, 1925, in Wailuku, Maui.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Ballard Family Mortuary; service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Rinsuke was a retired heavy equipment operator for Arisumi Brothers. In his post retirement, he enjoyed being a tour escort for Japanese visitors.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Shimabuku; daughters, Terry (Samson) Kahakauwila, Leila (Gary, predeceased) Kawano, Millie (Boysie) Septimo; brother, Rinkichi (Claudia) Shimabuku; Grandchildren, Karissa Kaeo, Garrett & Heidi Kahakauwila, Kristie & Kory Kawano, Tiana Arias, Chelsea Perrells; and 10 great-grandchildren.
