Rachael Mae Lahela Ma'alea, 67, of Haiku, passed away on May 21, 2014, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on April 12, 1947 in Honolulu.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Door of Faith Church in Wailuku, service will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku.
Rachael is survived by her husband, Charles Kau'i Ma'alea; sons, Alexander I. Ma'alea, Charles Kau'iokalani Ma'alea; daughters, Naomi (James) Conaway, Lorna Ma'alea, Charline (Raymond) Garcia, Rose (Pieter) Smith, and Jonette Ma'alea; brothers, Raymond (Doreen) Kaluhimoku, Paul Dela Cerna, Greg (Charlotte) Dela Cerna, Teddy-boy Cabreros; sisters, Rosemary Yamamoto, Sharon Dela Cerna, Vanessa (Peter) Quichocho, and Benita (Ron) Maganis; 19 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ellen Yap, and Winona Nunes; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and also many others who loved her and will miss her. Rachael was predeceased by her son, Lance Carrillo Ma'alea.
