Maui shines at 2014 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards

Great win for Maui at the 2014 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Among the Maui artists feted on Sunday, kumu hula Kamaka Kukona won Male Vocalist of the year (tied with Mark Yamanaka) and Most Promising Artist for his debut album "Hanu 'A'ala;" and Hulu Lindsey won Female Vocalist of the Year for her album, "A He Leo Wale No E." Her daughter Napua Grieg won the Christmas Hoku for "Lei Kulaia." Guitarist Jeff Peterson won another Slack Key Album of the Year award for his "Slack Key Travels," and the Hula Honeys won the jazz award for "A Hui Hou: Until We Meet Again." And our island got recognized in the Single of the Year category with Mark Yamanaka winning for his song, "Maui Under Moonlight."
