The Maui AIDS Foundation and the Maui Pride Organization will jointly host a LGBTQ Beach BBQ and dance on Saturday.
The Beach BBQ will be held from noon until 3 p.m. at the picnic tables under the covered pavilion (next to the baseball diamonds) on the northwest side of Kalama Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs and a potluck dish (pupus, dessert or nonalcoholic beverage to share). Maui Pride will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers and bottled water. The family-friendly event is open to all ages.
After the barbecue, the Maui AIDS Foundation will host its first annual T Dance from 3 to 7 p.m. at Three's Bar & Grill, directly across from Kalama Beach Park. The event is open to guests ages 18 and up. Admission costs $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Maui AIDS Foundation office at 1935 Main St., Suite 101, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or online at mauiaids.org.
All proceeds will fund prevention education, care and advocacy of those affected by HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted infections.
