Trotto takes titles at multiple meets
Mary Trotto of Kihei won eight titles in the women's 65 division at the USA Track and Field East Region Masters Championships that took place June 28-29 at Howard Community College in Columbia, Md., and won the division title in the National Masters Decathlon that took place Saturday and Sunday in at Missouri Southern University in Neosho.
Trotto was the lone entrant in six events at the regional meet. She had a time of 49.78 seconds in the 200 meters and 14:25.70 in the 2,000 steeplechase, cleared 0.90 meters in the high jump, and had distances of 2.13 meters in the long jump, 4.55 in the triple jump and 15.89 in the javelin. She won two-person competitions in the shot put (6.19 meters) and discus (15.63).

She was the only competitor in her division in the decathlon and finished with 2,376 points.
Mixed martial arts card scheduled for Saturday
A mixed martial arts card is scheduled for Saturday at the Lahaina Civic Center.
Maui Fighting Championship IV, the "No Ka Oi" card, will have fighters from Maui County and the Big Island. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and bouts are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Cageside tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Advance ticket sales will take place at YNVU Clothing in the Maui Mall in Kahului, 808 Gym in Wailuku, West Maui Motors in Lahaina and The Gym Maui in Kihei.
Introductory ki-aikido classes on Thursdays
An introductory ki-aikido course for teens and adults is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. on each of the next four Thursdays at the Shunshinkan Dojo in Wailuku.
Instruction will be offered in nonaggressive self-defense, as well as relaxation and calming.
The fee is $40, which also pays for a manual and can be credited toward dues for additional classes.
