Larry Libres event scheduled for Saturday
The 27th annual Larry Libres Fishing and Diving Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Kanaha Beach Park in Kahului.
Tako diving and oama fishing will start at 8 a.m. The oama competition will have two age divisions - 12-and-under and 13-and-over - and fish must be measured by 9:30 a.m.
Tako must be weighed by 10:30 a.m. All divers must have a partner.
The event has no entry fee, and registration starts at 7 a.m.
Kahili to host Kiwanis golf tournament
The second annual Kiwanis Club of Kahului Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at Kahili Golf Course in Waikapu, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start.
The fee for a two-person team is $300, which also pays for entry into hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin contests, a continental breakfast, greens fees, cart fees and an awards luncheon with prizes.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Pediatrics Department at Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Registration underway for marathon weekend
Entries are being accepted for next month's JTB Maui Marathon and four other associated races.
The marathon, starting in Kahului and ending in Kaanapali, and the half-marathon, which starts and ends in Kaanapali, are scheduled for Sept. 21. The Hard Rock 10K, Maui Tacos 5K and Bubba Gump Front Street Mile are scheduled for Sept. 20, all in West Maui.

Packet pick-up will take place at the Maui Marathon Health and Fitness Expo, scheduled for Sept. 19-20 at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali.
