Ask Marilyn: Watching the Olympics

Marilyn: I don't like watching the Olympics. In general, I don't like watching athletic competitions. There are many more things that I consider more interesting. While others are watching the Olympics on television, I'm doing other things. Some people say I'm odd to not enjoy the Olympics and other spectator sports. What do you think of people who don't care to watch the Olympics?

Marilyn responds:

As you're apparently not concerned about the cost of running the air conditioner, why not do both? Instead of fiddling with the sunscreens in annoyance while the car sits there baking in the sun, get inside first, turn on the a/c, then get back out to take off the windshield protectors and put them away. While you're doing that, the a/c will be doing its thing. I think this means a shared lunch, don't you?
