Na Alii defeated in shootout

King Kekaulike High School lost to Pearl City 1-0 in a penalty-kick shootout that ended 10-9 in favor of the Chargers on Wednesday in the first round of the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Boys Soccer Division I State Championships.

The match at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex went to a shootout after regulation and two overtimes. The names of the penalty-kick scorers were not available.

Na Alii will play in a consolation match today at 1 p.m. against Kaiser, which lost to Kapolei.

Kamehameha Maui, the No. 4 seed, will open play today at 1 p.m. in a quarterfinal against Iolani, which beat Campbell in a first-round match.

The Division II tournament starts today with quarterfinal matches.

No. 4 seed Seabury Hall will play Mid-Pacific at 3 p.m.
