Baldwin clinches league crown

The Baldwin High School girls golf team won a 50th consecutive match and clinched a seventh straight Maui Interscholastic League championship Tuesday by beating Seabury Hall 123-165 at The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului.

Kimberlie Miyamoto carded a 40 for the Bears (9-0), Marissa Uradomo had a 41 and Kirsten Isakawa and Lydia Higa each shot 42. Lexi Nagamine had a 45 and Tyler Charbonneau a 50.

Baldwin has not lost an MIL match since 2008, and will try to complete a fifth straight unbeaten league season on Thursday with a rematch against Seabury at Kahili Golf Course.

Jimmsie Stisher led the Spartans (2-7) on Tuesday with a 51. Natasha Salamack had a 54, Jessica Brown a 60 and Joy Balinbin a 62.

* MAUI HIGH GIRLS 121, LAHAINALUNA 130: At Waiehu Municipal Golf Course, Jasmine Cabajar had a 37 and Kristeena Locke a 38 as Maui High (7-2) won a seventh consecutive match and took sole possession of second.

The Sabers’ Taylor Akapmine and Anna Apana each shot 45.

Caitlyn Villatora had a 38 for Lahainaluna (6-3), Caylyn Villatora shot 41, Bailey Pendergast recorded a 51 and Ennah Cabading had a 53.

* KAMEHAMEHA MAUI GIRLS DEF. KING KE-KAULIKE, FORFEIT: At Elleair Maui Golf Club in Kihei, Nicole Nagamine and Kodi Joyo each shot 45 for Kamehameha Maui (3-6). Shaina Hipolito had a 50 and Kalena Tamashiro a 62.

Nicole Umeno (43) and Emma Raymond (61) played for King Kekaulike (0-9).
