Koss a USA Triathlon All-American

Ryan Koss, a 17-year-old from Kula, was named a USA Triathlon All-American in the boys 16-17 division for 2012 earlier this week.

The award designates that Koss placed in the top 5 percent in his age group at USAT events.

Koss repeated as the Honolulu Sprint Triathlon champion in May, and placed 12th in the 15-19 age group and 27th overall in August’s age-group national sprint championship in Vermont, earning a spot in this year’s International Triathlon Union world championship, scheduled for September in London.

The Seabury Hall senior had the eighth-best point total in his division for 2012 in USAT’s ranking system.

Koss received All-America honorable mention for 2011.
