Sabers earn first victory

The Maui High School boys golf team earned its first Maui Interscholastic League win of the season on Wednesday, getting a 39 from Zachary Taylor on the way to defeating Sea-bury Hall 190-196 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.

Ian Bingham and Chase Baker each shot 49 for the Sabers (1-4), and Marvyn Guillermo had a 53. Ross Takemoto carded a 58.

Aron Graziano had a round of 44 for the Spartans (2-4). Reyn Stisher and Dawud Moragne each shot 47, and Max Hurd had a 58.

* LAHAINALUNA BOYS 170, KAMEHAMEHA MAUI 201: At Elleair Maui Golf Club in Kihei, Rhett Wiseman’s 37 helped Lahainaluna improve to 6-0.

Lucas Bell carded a 41 for the Lunas, while Malu Rosenthal and Jake Horton each had rounds of 46 and Kerek Franz shot 50. Lahainaluna’s nonscoring alternates were Tristan Villa (45) and Lance Ito (46).

Kamehameha Maui (1-4) was led by Lucas Park’s 39. Jacob Puu shot 45, Kalei Stanich 56 and Kainalu Steward 61.

* BALDWIN BOYS 155, KING KEKAULIKE 189: At Kahili Golf Course in Wailuku, Ariel Hansen and Tyler Munetake each had rounds of 37 for Baldwin (5-0), and Jameson Keiley had a 39.

Nathaniel Idica (42) was the Bears’ other scorer. Jordan Hinau and Thomas Hamrick each shot 45.

King Kekaulike (1-4) got a 43 from Drake Onaga. Anthony Corpuz shot 46, Brandon Castro 48, A.J. Ramelb 52 and Micha Hanawahine 67.
