Maui AJA All-Stars beat Big Island to reach final

The Maui AJA All-Stars scored seven unearned runs in the first inning and Allan Castro pitched a complete game as the Valley Isle beat the Big Island 13-6 in their semifinal of the Hawaii State AJA tournament on Saturday at Les Murakami Stadium.

Maui pounded out 17 hits, led by Lance Migita’s 3-for-6 performance that included an RBI. Van Delos Santos, Kalaika Kahoohalahala, Joey Tam Ho, Mo Lau Hee, Joey Castro, Chase Corniel and Ian Shimabuku all had two hits for Maui.

Maui will play Oahu, which beat Kauai, for the title today.
