Na Alii boys claim title, girls tie Sabers

The King Kekaulike High Schools judo teams won the boys title and tied with Maui High for the girls crown at the Maui Interscholastic League bracket tournament held Saturday at Baldwin gym.

Na Alii had five boys win weight classes to score 141 points, 31 more than the Bears. Maui High was third with 90.

In girls action, Na Alii had four titlists and the Sabers had two as both teams finished with 102 points.

There will be a round-robin tournament next Saturday at King Kekaulike and the MIL championships are set for April 27 at Baldwin.

A total of 32 girls and 41 boys participated in Saturday’s tournament.
