Maui High swept by Leilehua
Maui High School was swept by Leilehua 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 on Wednesday in a New City Nissan Boys Volleyball Division I State Championship match at the Wai-pahu Gym.
Dakota Soliai and Elijah Suivaaia each had eight kills for the Mules, who improved to 11-3. Dylan Orosco had three aces and Devin Ke’a added 21 assists, five kills, and blocks.
Jaryn Kuhaulua-Feiteira had 14 kills for the Sabers (8-8), who will face McKinley today in a consolation match. Maui High’s Ryan Dalut had 16 assists, and Mark Lee Calija had three blocks.
Fourth-seeded Baldwin received a bye to the quarterfinals, and will play today against Kaiser, which got 14 kills from Joe Hoddick and 32 assists from Riker Kasamoto en route to 25-12, 25-14, 25-12 victory over Roosevelt in a match at McKinley.
In the eight-team Division II tournament, second-seeded Seabury Hall will open today against Waialua at Farrington.
