Mililani to play Baldwin in quarterfinals
Mililani High School scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning and beat Waipahu 2-1 on Wednesday in the opening game of the Wally Yonamine Foundation Division I State Baseball Championship at Maehara Stadium, advancing to a meeting with top-seeded Baldwin today in the quarterfinal round.
Sean Sonognini had a double and RBI for the Trojans (10-7), while Cole Nakachi and Cristian Namoca combined on a three-hitter.
Dylan Sugimoto pitched a complete game for the Marauders (9-7), who will face Iolani in a consolation game today.

4-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored and Caleb Freitas-Fields had a double among his three hits and drove in four runs as defending champion Waiakea (9-3) advanced to a quarterfinal against second-seeded Mid-Pacific.
The Warriors’ Kean Wong was 3-for-5 with a triple, and scored three times.
Leilehua (6-11) will play Pearl City on Friday for a spot in the consolation final.
