Molokai to play for third after falling to Maryknoll

The Molokai High School baseball team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday, falling 6-1 to Maryknoll in a Wally Yonamine Division II State Championship semifinal Friday at Hans L’Orange Field.

Matt Yap drove in three runs and Josh Muneno pitched a six-hitter and went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for the second-seeded Spartans (10-3-1).

Maryknoll, the No. 2 seed, scored four runs in the first inning, and overcame four errors.

David Rapanot had a double for the third-seeded Farmers (9-1), who will play Waianae in the third-place game today.
