Seabury claims third place with comeback win

The Seabury Hall boys volleyball team rallied from a set down and defeated Kauai 21-25, 26-24, 15-13 on Saturday in the New City Nissan Division II State Championship third-place match at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu.

Blake Rizzo had 14 kills for the third-seeded Spartans (13-3), who have finished in the top three in the state each of the last four years, a run that began with the 2010 title. Rizzo also had seven digs, two blocks and an ace.

Seabury’s Max DeLyon had 10 kills and 19 assists, Nyck Yashiro had 15 assists and three kills and Kyle Stisher had 10 digs.

Rizzo and DeLyon were all-tournament selections.

The Red Raiders (12-4) got eight kills from Mikal Moranz. Grant Basquez had nine digs and Marcus Carvalho had 19 assists and five digs.
