Na Koa complete three-game sweep with walkoff win

Ray Serrano hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Na Koa Ikaika Maui beat the Santa Rosa Rose Buds 3-2 on Thursday at Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.

Jesse Smith (3-0) pitched a complete game for Maui, allowing three hits and striking out nine batters. Smith lowered his ERA this year to 2.57.

Maui High School graduate Kalaika Kahoohalahala was

2-for-4 with a stolen base for Na Koa, which reclaimed first place in the Pacific Association, moving a half-game in front of the San Rafael Pacifics. Charlie Mirabal also had two hits, and Sing Chow had two stolen bases.

Maui will begin a three-game home series with the East Bay Lumberjacks today.
