Na Koa Ikaika lose 5-3 at Vallejo, drop to 17-8

Na Koa Ikaika Maui lost its first road game of the season, falling 5-3 to the Vallejo Admirals in a Pacific Association game Wednesday at Vallejo, Calif.

Na Koa (17-8) led 3-1 through 5 1/2 innings, but the Admiral (7-13) tied it with two in the sixth and scored two more in the eighth, including Scott Underwood’s go-ahead RBI single.

Eri Yoshida allowed five hits and three runs – two earned – over 5 1/3 innings for Na Koa. Chris Waters (0-1) gave up two runs in 2 2/3 innings.

Maui’s Waylan Sing-Chow belted a two-run home run in the fifth.

Bo Henning (3-0) worked 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief for Vallejo. Nicholas Flory recorded the final two outs for his first save of the season.

The teams will continue their six-game series today.
