Na Koa rally for 10-5 win over Stars on Big Island

Na Koa Ikaika Maui scored nine runs over the final two innings to beat the Hawaii Stars 10-5 on Wednesday in a Pacific Association of Professional Baseball game at Wong Stadium.

Na Koa (6-2), who have won three in a row, scored five runs in the eighth and four in the ninth to take a 10-3 lead.

Maui’s Ray Serrano batted 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Nick Valdez went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs. Evan Frazer doubled and scored three times and Waylen Sing Chow drove in a pair.

Na Koa’s Chad Blackwell (1-1) allowed three runs – two earned – over seven innings. He walked none and struck out four.

Katsuaki Furuki and Brendan Davis each had three hits for the Stars (2-6).

Hilo’s Devon Ramirez (1-1) allowed three runs in one-third of an inning.
