Na Koa’s winning streak reaches five

Jeremy Williams had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in two runs as Na Koa Ikaika Maui won its fifth straight game on Friday, 9-6 over the Hawaii Stars at Wong Stadium in Hilo.

T.J. Macy (1-0) pitched three perfect innings for the win, and Chris Mobley earned his second save of the year – the first was in Thursday’s victory over the Stars. Maui starter Eri Yoshida permitted six runs in 4 1/3 innings.

Na Koa scored five runs in the fourth to take an 8-4 lead. Maui High School graduate Kalaika Kahoohalahala hit a two-run single and scored and Williams drove in a run with a ground-rule double during the inning, which also included two walks, two wild pitches, an error and a hit batter.

Matt Stropoli (0-1) was the losing pitcher.
