Pono bows out in semifinals of Presidents Cup

Pono SC won its first game on Saturday at the U.S. Youth Soccer Presidents Cup in Boise, Idaho, before losing in the semifinal round.

Pono was eliminated with a 2-0 loss to the Southern California Rebels. Earlier, the Maui team got three goals from Kamalei Roback in a 4-1 win over the Idaho Rush. Ilihia Keawekane also scored for Pono, and had an assist. Roback also had an assist, as did Leialoha Medeiros and Chai Cortez.

The other players for Pono, which went 4-1, were Mikayla Barut, Tallison Brainard, Kainoa Dafun, Angelle Ferge, Darian Fernandez, Tihanee Freitas, McKenzie Keator, Mahealani Firestine, Andrea Kenagy, Kylee Yamashita, Tehani Moikeha and Tihanee Freitas.
