Na Koa surrender three runs in ninth, lose to Admirals
Na Koa Ikaika Maui gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and lost 3-2 to the Vallejo Admirals on Sunday in a Pacific Association game in Vallejo, Calif.
Vallejo’s Andrew Rubalcava hit an RBI single and then scored the tying run before Na-than Tomaszewski ended the game with his two-out single off Chris Mobley.
Manuel Ruiz (2-2), the Admirals’ fifth pitcher, got the win with a scoreless ninth.
Na Koa starter Jesse Smith pitched 8 1/3 innings and
was charged with all three runs, two of them unearned, though Mobley (2-1) took the loss. Smith permitted three hits and struck out five batters.
D.J. Dixon hit an RBI double in the fourth for Maui, and Brandon Gregorich added a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
