Richman approaches 800 feet on kiteboard
FIRST PHOTO: Jesse Richman of Haiku celebrates after reaching 790 feet in a kiteboarding tow-up at Oregon’s Colombia River Gorge on July 26. The ride, measured with electronic sensors, is believed to be the highest in the history of the discipline. “The view up there was pretty freaking epic – I can’t wait for the next time I’m up there,” said Richman, who performed the feat six days after his 21st birthday.
SECOND PHOTO: Richman, the winner of a Red Bull King of the Air title earlier this year and the Kiteboard Pro World Tour series championship in 2008, flies over the river during his jump, which can be seen on video at jessetowup.com.
