Smith helps Na Koa end three-game skid

Na Koa Ikaika Maui’s Jesse Smith allowed two runs in 8 1/3 innings Sunday in a 4-2 victory over the Hawaii Stars in a Pacific Association game at Wong Stadium in Hilo.

Smith improved to 6-3 this year. Chris Mobley got the final two outs for his ninth save.

Kalaika Kahoohalahala, a Maui High School graduate, was 2-for-3 with a double and scored three runs for Na Koa, who had lost their last three games, all against the Stars.

Matt Stropoli (3-4) was the losing pitcher.
