Farmers go to 3-0 in D-II volleyball

The Molokai High School girls volleyball team took sole possession of first place in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II standings with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-8 win over Lanai on Friday in Lanai City.

Taylor Keliihoomalu finished with nine kills and Rebecka Adolpho added eight for the Farmers (3-0). Taylor Tamanaha had six aces and six kills, and Shaniah Mollena-Lopez had nine digs and eight assists.

The Pine Lasses were playing their season opener.

Hana 3, Maui Prep 0

At Lahaina, Hana posted its second consecutive sweep to start the season, winning 25-9, 25-9, 25-8.

Shalen-Brae Hoopai had five aces for the Dragons, who have held their opponents to single digits in points in all but one set this year.

Shyla Boeche and Kamalani Twiggs each had four aces for Hana.

Na Pueo (0-2) got four digs from Te’a Vannatta.

Seabury Hall 3, Kamehameha Maui 2 (Thursday)

At Olinda, Seabury Hall won 25-22, 25-15, 23-25, 23-25, 18-16 in a nonleague match Thursday.

Danielle Brown had eight kills and five aces for Kamehameha Maui.

Taylor Awai had seven kills, three aces and 22 digs, and Patricia Batoon also had seven kills, along with seven blocks. Charity Sadang and Harley Gonsalves each had five kills. Kaitlyn Castillo had four aces, Victoria Kunishi added three and Kaala Corpuz had two, and Shalia Kamakaokalani had 19 digs.

Statistics for the Warriors were not available.
