Grossman earns victory in Big Island meet
Three-time girls cross country state champion Dakota Grossman of Seabury Hall finished first on Saturday in a meet on the Kamehameha Hawaii campus in Keaau.
Grossman had a time of 18 minutes, 38.77 seconds. Hilo’s Kamehana Sabado Halpern was second in 19:40.90, Emma Kao of Dana Hills (Calif.) was third in 19:46.11 and Seabury’s Ally Smith (19:56.06) was fourth. The Spartans’ Ava Shipman was 12th in 21:05.12.
Dana Hills won the team title with 37 points. Seabury was second with 61.
