Hawaii sweeps Northwestern
Emily Hartong had 13 kills and Mita Uiato had 32 assists as the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team beat Northwestern 25-12, 25-13, 25-19 on Friday during the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Challenge at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
The Rainbow Wahine’s Kalei Adolpho, a Molokai High School graduate, finished with six kills without an error and four blocks. Teammate Ginger Long, a Kamehameha Schools Maui alumnus, had four digs.
Hawaii (7-1), ranked 10th in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, won its fifth straight match.
Stephanie Holthus had seven kills for Northwestern (4-4).
In the day’s first match, Arizona defeated Portland State 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 31-29.
Hawaii plays Arizona today.
