Friday and Saturday-Tickets for the EA Sports Maui Invitational men’s basketball tournament will be sold Friday and Saturday at Anthony’s Coffee in Paia, Hi-Tech Surf Sports in Kahului, Paradise Grill in Kaanapali and Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea, tournament officials confirmed Thursday. The sale is to begin at 9 a.m. and run until the closing time of each business on Friday, and continue from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The sale will end early if all available tickets are purchased. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 25-27 at the Lahaina Civic Center. General-admission tickets for games on the first day will each cost $55, as will tickets to the third-place game. Tickets for either of the second-day consolation games, or the fifth-place or seventh-place games, will each cost $25. Tickets for each semifinal and for the championship game will cost $80. All-day reserved seats will cost $190 per day. The sale will be cash only, and limited to two tickets per person for each game. Friday-King Kekaulike High School is seeking coaches for cheerleading and girls basketball. Applications are available at the school’s main office in Pukalani, and must be turned in by 4 p.m. on Friday

* Golf

Oct. 12-The 40th annual Lester Hamai Memorial golf tournament is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville, with a 7 a.m. shotgun start. The event is open to all members of Maui women’s golf clubs with an established maximum Oct. 1 GHIN handicap of 36 or better. The entry fee of $80 also pays for use of a cart, an awards luncheon and eligibility for hole-in-one and closest-to-the-pin contests. Entry forms are available at most Maui courses. * MARTIAL ARTS

Tuesday-Introductory courses in ki-aikido for teens and adults will be offered every Tuesday in September, from 8 to 9:30 p.m., at the Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Puka-lani. The county-sanctioned courses will be conducted by sixth-dan instructor Joni Jackson, under the direction of eighth-dan instructor Christopher Curtis. Saturday-Stock car racing is scheduled for Saturday at the Paradise Speedway Maui circle track in Puunene. Gates will open at 3:30 p.m., and time trials are scheduled to start at 6:30, with main events to follow. Saturday-Sept. 8-The Hawaii Pearls fastpitch girls softball team will conduct tryouts for its 14-and-under and 16-and-under teams on Saturday and Sept. 8 at the Kahului School field. Tryouts for the 14-and-under team will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, and tryouts for the 16-and-under team will take place from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The first day will be for defense, and the second day for offense.
