Takamura, Seki on target at MIL meet
King Kekaulike High School’s Jason Takamura and St. Anthony’s Tia Seki won individual titles in the second Maui Interscholastic League air riflery meet of the season on Saturday at King Kekaulike.
St. Anthony’s boys and girls swept the team titles for the second week in a row.
Takamura, who finished fourth at last week’s opener, won the boys division with a 259. Maui High’s Christopher Naputi was second at 251 and Molokai’s Michael Corpuz placed third with a 247.
Seki, who finished as the runner-up last week, shot a 258. Teammate Hanna Parker finished second with a 244 and King Kekaulike’s Victoria Dalida was third with a 242.
The Trojans’ boys shot a 921. St. Anthony’s top shooter was Luke Gage, last week’s boys champion. On Saturday, he finished fifth with a 243. Na Alii was second with a 896.
The Trojans’ girls finished with a 977. Baldwin placed second with a 907.
St. Anthony’s Jade Boren, who won the girls competition a week ago, finished fifth with a 236.
