UH beats Creighton in five, improves to 10-1

Emily Hartong had 20 kills and 16 digs as the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team beat Creighton 25-17, 25-16, 19-25, 20-25, 15-9 at the Shocker Classic on Friday in Wichita, Kan.

Tai Manu-Olevao added 14 kills and Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had 13 kills, four digs, two blocks and one ace for the?Rainbow Wahine, ranked No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

Mita Uiato had 46 assists for UH, which ended the match on a 7-2 run. Kamehameha Maui alumnus Ginger Long had two service errors.

The Rainbow Wahine, who have won eight matches in a row, improved to 10-1.

Leah McNary had 12 kills and Jess Bird and Lauren Smith each added 10 for the 23rd-ranked Blue Jays (7-3).
