UH sweeps, goes to 11-1 on season
Emily Hartong had 13 kills and Tai Manu-Olevao added 10 as the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team beat Wichita State 25-20, 25-20, 25-23 in the Shocker Classic on Saturday at Wichita, Kan.
The Rainbow Wahine, who are 11-1 overall, went 3-0 in the tournament and have won nine matches in row.
Kalei Aldolpho, a Molokai High School alumnus, finished with seven kills and two blocks for UH, ranked No. 7 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Teammate Ginger Long, a Kamehameha Maui graduate, had two service errors.
Mita Uiato had 36 assists and Ali Longo contributed 20 digs for the?Rainbow Wahine.
Hartong was named tournament MVP and Uiato and Adolpho made the all-tournament team.
Ashlyn Driskill had 10 kills for the Shockers (11-2).
