Bears sweep Trojans in bowling

The Baldwin High School boys and girls bowling teams swept Maui Interscholastic League matches against St. Anthony on Wednesday at Maui Bowling Center.

The Bears’ boys won 3-0, while the girls triumphed 3-0 by forfeit.

For the boys, Nathan Barcoma had series of 198 and 145, Stuart Silva rolled a 192, Rory Salcedo posted a 170 and 156 and Jaylen Kama-Cabading scored a 157 for the second-place Bears (19-8).

On Saturday, Maui High (23-1) clinched the boys team title.

Michael Fernandez rolled a 157 and Noa Castleton had a 154 for the Trojans (14-13).

For the girls, Kristen Espania-Kaeo posted series of 169 and 144, Yu Sasaki rolled a 155 and Kyra Watanabe and Chaniya Silva each had 148 for the Bears (27-0).

Laura Dotson rolled a 125 and Mindy Montalbo posted series of 108 and 105 for the Trojans (6-20).
