Hawaii extends winning streak to 13 matches
The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team extended its winning streak to 13 matches on Saturday with a 25-16, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15 victory over UC Irvine in Irvine, Calif.
Emily Hartong had 25 kills and 11 digs for the Rainbow Wahine (15-1, 4-0 Big West), No. 6 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association rankings. Nikki Taylor had 10 kills, Tai Manu-Olevao added eight and Molokai High School graduate Kalei Adolpho had seven kills on 10 attempts with no errors. Hawaii finished with a .409 hitting percentage.
Mita Uiato had 11 digs and 46 assists for UH. Kamehameha Maui graduate Ginger Long did not play.
Aly Squires, Arielle Manz and Cassidy Pickrell each re-corded 11 kills for the Ant-eaters (9-8, 0-3).
Hawaii will face UC Santa Barbara on Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.
