Lotulelei picked up off waivers by Jaguars
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – The Jacksonville Jaguars were awarded rookie linebacker John Lotulelei, a Baldwin High School graduate, off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
Jacksonville waived linebacker Kyle Knox to make room for Lotulelei on the 53-man roster.
Lotulelei had made the Seattle roster as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada-Las Vegas. As a senior, he recorded 121 tackles and was named to the All-Mountain West Conference first team.
Lotulelei appeared in two games and recorded three tackles, all in a Sept. 22 victory over Jacksonville.
The 21-year-old Lotulelei, listed as 5-foot-11 and 233 pounds, had 12 tackles in the preseason, which ranked third on the Seahawks.
