Nagoshi reaches women’s final of windsurfing event
Junko Nagoshi reached the women’s final of the American Windsurfing Tour’s JP Aloha Classic by winning both her heats Tuesday at Hookipa Beach Park in Kuau.
Tatiana Howard and Ingrid Larouche each won a first-round heat to receive a bye to the third round, then placed second in their heats to reach the final. Also in the final is Tiffany Ward, who won consecutive heats after a second-place finish in the first round.
Eight of 16 spots in the third round of the masters event were decided Tuesday, and the other eight will be filled by top-two finishers in each of four second-round heats.
The first round of the amateur division was completed as well.
