Spartans seeded second in D-II state tournament

Seabury Hall received the No. 2 seed in the New City Nissan Division II Girls Volleyball State Championship bracket released Saturday after winning all 12 of its matches in the Maui Interscholastic League this season.

The Spartans are scheduled to play in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Kaimuki gym against the winner of Tuesday’s match between Kalaheo and two-time defending champion St. Francis, which defeated Seabury in five sets in last year’s title match.

Hana will face Konawaena on Tuesday at McKinley, with the winner advancing to a quarterfinal against top-seeded University.

Hawaii Prep received the No. 3 seed, and Radford is seeded fourth.

The D-I bracket was announced last week – Kamehameha Maui was seeded fourth, and King Kekaulike was put in a first-round match with Aiea.
