UH tops Long Beach State

Emily Hartong had 14 kills and a .414 hitting percentage as the Univerisity of Hawaii women’s volleyball team won its Big West Conference road opener Friday, 25-11, 25-21, 26-16 over Long Beach State in Long Beach, Calif.

Nikki Taylor had 11 kills and Tai Manu-Olevao added 10 for the Rainbow Wahine (14-1, 3-0 Big West), ranked sixth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll. Molokai High School alumnus Kalei Adolpho had four kills, and Kamehameha Maui graduate Ginger Long had a dig.

Delainey Aigner-Swesey and Chisom Okpala had nine kills apiece for the 49ers (8-8, 1-2).
