Height of his game

Minnesota’s DeAndre Mathieu is the shortest player in the field, listed as 5-foot-9. The junior guard – a transfer from Central Arizona College, where he was named a junior college All-American last season – is averaging 9.6 points per game this season, and his 28 assists and 11 steals are both team highs. At the opposite end of the height spectrum are the three players in the event listed as 7-1 – Gonzaga teammates Przemek Karnowski and Ryan Edwards, and Baylor’s Isaiah Austin.
