Kamehameha Maui wins state cheer title
Kamehameha Schools Maui became the first Maui Interscholastic League cheerleading team to win a state title by taking the Zippy’s Championships medium-division crown Saturday at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu.
The Warriors finished with 348.75 points, 4.5 better than second-place Pac-Five.
Kamehameha’s roster comprised Jocelyn Aipa, Moana Astronomo, Kalea Borling, Rachel Kaulupali, Acacia Coloma-Mariano, Chasten Abut, Halia Kekuewa, Tyler Rabarra, Hannah Patrick, Ashlee Sawai, Kayla Sniffen and Jessica Walker.
Baldwin finished in fifth place.
Radford took first place in the large division.
