Lotulelei, teammate involved in ‘very minor situation’ in London
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Jacksonville Jaguars reserve linebackers John Lotulelei and J.T. Thomas were involved in what the team called “a very minor situation” during the team’s trip to London last week.
Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell confirmed Friday that Lotulelei, a Baldwin High School graduate, and Thomas were involved in a situation following Sunday’s 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The website Deadspin first reported that some unnamed Jaguars found trouble abroad. Exactly what happened is unclear, but the players had noticeable facial injuries during the flight back to Jacksonville.
Caldwell said “it was a very minor situation and it was handled internally.”
Lotulelei, claimed off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks early last month, has played mostly on special teams in four games with Jacksonville this season, recording a tackle and a forced fumble. Overall this season, he has played in six games and totaled four tackles. Thomas has three tackles in seven games.
