MIL cheerleading champions crowned
FIRST PHOTO: The Kamehameha Schools Maui cheerleading team celebrates after being announced as the winner of the Maui Interscholastic League championships on Saturday at Baldwin’s gym. “We worked really hard,” said sophomore Chaston Abut. “We tried our best and left it all on the mat. No regrets.” The Warriors finished with 362 points, followed by Baldwin (350.5), Lahainaluna (326.5, taking third place on a tiebreaker), Maui High (326.5) and King Kekaulike (246). Kamehameha Maui and Baldwin will represent the league at the state championships on Nov. 16 at the Blaisdell Arena on Oahu.
