No. 12 UH volleyball team sweeps Cal Poly on road

Nikki Taylor had 12 kills and Tai Manu-Olevao added 11 as the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team ended a two-match road losing streak by sweeping Cal Poly on Friday at San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-19.

Kalei Adolpho, a Molokai High School alumnus, had eight kills and two blocks for the Rainbow Wahine, ranked 12th by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Mita Uiato had 39 assists for Hawaii (19-4, 8-3 Big West), which had lost their previous two road matches – both in five sets – before beating UC Irvine and Long Beach State last week.

Hannah Schleis had seven kills for Cal Poly (10-13, 4-6).

The Rainbow Wahine will play at UC Santa Barbara today.
