Farmers open with two losses

Molokai High School lost its first two games in the Lahainaluna Invitational on Friday at the Lahaina Civic Center, falling 65-28 to Chief Sealth (Wash.) and then 42-22 to Houston (Alaska) in the game immediately after.

In the day’s opening game, the Seahawks’ Khaleef Griffin scored 22 points, L.J. Burns had 16, Jamari Smith added 14 and Alloney Burris had 13. Thomas Tamanaha, Jordan Boswell and Kaimana Kahale each scored six points for the Farmers.

Matt Barron scored 18 points for Houston in the following game. Molokai got 11 from Jordan Boswell.

Chief Sealth lost 67-38 to Edison (Calif.) in the next game. Jake Haar scored 15 points for Edison, Derek Molina had 14 and A.J. Garrity and Brae Ivey added 10 each. Griffin scored 11 points and Leeandre Dickerson had 10.


Lahainaluna’s Ryan Madera scored 15 points, and Renzo Corpuz had 10.

Kapaa got 11 points from Marlon Cudiamat.

MISSION VIEJO (Calif.) 64, DEL NORTE (Calif.) 39

Kaden Rasheed scored 20 points for Mission Viejo, and Chandler Hutchinson added 18.

Austin Clyde was the top scorer for Del Norte, with 15 points. Alex Bulkin had 10.
