Gallardo’s two goals help Lunas top Sabers

Sergio Gallardo scored a pair of goals for the Lahainaluna High School boys soccer team in a 5-1 victory over Maui High on Wednesday in a Maui Interscholastic League game in Kahului.

Emerson Liburd, Keoni Miranda and Jonathan Cardenas also scored for the Lunas (2-2-1), who have earned seven points in their last three games and entered a tie with Baldwin for third place in the Division I standings.

Dylan Barber scored for the Sabers (0-3-0).


Kamehameha Maui girls def. St. Anthony

At War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku, Kamehameha Maui defeated St. Anthony. A final score was not available.

The Warriors improved to 5-0-0, opening a six-point lead in the D-I standings.

The Trojans fell to 0-2-0.

St. Anthony will visit Sea-bury Hall, the MIL’s four-time defending D-II champion, on Friday – both teams are seeking their first point of the season.
