Na Alii win third straight

The King Kekaulike High School girls basketball team took an early lead and maintained control the rest of the way in a 53-36 win over Kamehameha Maui on Wednesday in a Maui Interscholastic League game at Na Alii’s gym in Pukalani.

Brooks Carillo scored 12 points for King Kekaulike (4-1) – seven in the first quarter, which ended with Na Alii up 26-9. King Kekaulike was in front 51-25 entering the fourth quarter on the way to a third consecutive win.

Daysa Tavares added 11 points for Na Alii, who will host unbeaten Lahainaluna, winner of the last nine MIL Division I titles, on Friday.

The Warriors (0-5) got 14 points from Ashley Tanoue-Singson.
