Raiders place Maiava on injured reserve

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) – Kaluka Maiava was placed on injured reserve by the Oakland Raiders on Saturday.

Maiava, a Baldwin High School graduate, recorded 17 tackles in his first season with the Raiders. The five-year NFL veteran appeared in nine games with Oakland, starting one.

The Raiders also placed safety Usama Young on IR and waived defensive lineman Brian Sanford.

Defensive backs Chance Casey and Shelton Johnson and linebacker Marshall McFadden were promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.
