Sabers enter tie for second place in D-I standings

Tiana Lucas and Mary-lyn Johannes each scored two goals as the Maui High School girls soccer team defeated St. Anthony 8-0 on Monday in a Maui Interscholastic League game in Kahului.

Maui High (4-1-0) moved into a tie for second place in the MIL Division I standings, three points behind Kamehameha Maui, which was won all five of its games. The Sabers and Warriors are to meet Saturday.

Johannes scored two unassisted goals, and assisted on one of Lucas’ scores – the other came off a corner kick by Tiare Lucas, who later added an unassisted goal.

Tiana Lucas also assisted on a goal by Kylie Cortez.

Briana Yamamoto scored off an assist by Cassie Arakawa, and assisted on a goal by Jacqueline Bissell.

The Trojans fell to 0-4-0.
