UH women topple Minnesota 77-71 in overtime

Shawna-Lei Kuehu hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime and Ashleigh Karaitiana finished with 22 points as the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team beat Minnesota 77-71 on Sunday at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.

Kuehu scored 19 points and Kamilah Jackson added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Rainbow Wahine (5-3 overall, 2-1 tournament) in the final game of the Rainbow Wahine Shootout.

Rachel Banham, who finished with 24 points, hit a 3-pointer with six seconds left in regulation to put the Gophers (7-2, 2-1) ahead 66-63.

Jackson scored five points during Hawaii’s 6-0 run to start overtime.
